The Ottawa-Carleton Learning Foundation
The Ottawa-Carleton Learning Foundation (OCLF), dedicated to fostering
life-long learning for students across the Ottawa region, was launched
in 1987. Working in collaboration with its partners in education,
government, business and the community, OCLF has played a lead role
in developing over 30 innovative education programs.
When OCLF and OCRI merged in 1998, OCLF became the charitable arm
of OCRI, retaining its own by-laws and Board of Directors. Since
1998, OCLF has engaged OCRI to provide administrative and managerial
support for the delivery of its programs.
Three OCRI programs fall under the OCLF umbrella:
These programs support the learning needs of all elementary and
secondary school students, with particular focus on children at
risk.
OCLF acts as a vehicle for channeling resources from the community
to schools to help children in need. Resources include funding,
volunteers, books, equipment and other in-kind donations. OCLF programs
also promote civic engagement and volunteerism, and work towards
enhancing quality of life for all Ottawans.
